To improve and promote handicrafts & handloom industry, by organizing artisan clusters, catalysing them as active entrepreneurs, providing support to find required capital and providing easy access to domestic and overseas markets, a Federation by name The Puducherry State Co-operative Handicrafts and Handloom Federation Ltd was started during March 2007.

The main goal of the Federation is to create employment through indigenous crafts tradition provide required raw materials and provide a productive source of income, mainly to the rural people.

The Federation wishes to upgrade artisans’ skills through appropriate design and technology, so as  to enable  them  to  use  quality  raw materials,  tools  and  equipments  to  add  value  to  their  products. The Federation wants to provide adequate infrastructure support for improving quality and productivity to cater to the global market. The Federation intends to create Centers of excellence with well integrated forward and backward linkages.
